Last weekend, I visited New England for the very first time and all I have to say is WOW. It’s so different compared to the west coast but I absolutely loved exploring Boston and nearby towns to see a part of US history! I was only there for 3 days but I look forward to returning.

On the train in New London, CT

We took the train from Penn Station, which was a quick 4-hour journey. It was really relaxing going through New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, AND Massachusetts and finally being surrounded by Mother Nature rather than the concrete jungle. Once we got into Boston, we checked into our hotel – Kimpton Nine Zero Hotel – which I highly recommend! The rooms and lobby area have a sexy masculine feel but it’s also right in the heart of the downtown theater district.

The reason I went to Boston, to begin with, was for my best friend’s bridal shower (part 2). The groom’s family held the shower at the Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA. The museum has 210 acres of land with stunning views and miles of walking trails along with Native American artifacts, paintings, and more.

That same day we drove to Concord, which was ADORABLE. It is a small colonial town filled with grassy plains and is known for the American Revolutionary War sites in Minute Man National Historical Park. There were even people dressed up, which I also loved! We walked around and checked out the local shops and cafes but I definitely want to come back and stay the night at the Colonial Inn.

I didn’t get a photo but we drove by the Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House, where “Little Women” was both written and set. So cool!

Overall, I had an amazing time exploring Boston and the nearby towns. I would love to visit again soon when the leaves turn colors and to visit Harvard University, MIT, and to check out some more Irish pubs!
