48 Hours in Philly

GO BIRDS!

With the Super Bowl approaching this week, I wanted to spotlight a city that's relatively close to NYC: Philadelphia. I must confess, I'll be cheering for the Eagles this weekend—Swifties, please don't come after me! I can't handle the backlash! However, to be fair, Saquon Barkley was on my Fantasy Football team this past season, and he was so fun to watch. So, I have to support my guy, Saquon!

I visited Philly a few times because a college friend moved there to work at Anthropologie. I must say, their headquarters are absolutely stunning, and I would die to work at that office with those gorgeous chandeliers! It became a running joke that my friend disliked Philly because her heart was always with the West Coast. So, when we spotted a man selling “I F***ing Hate this Place” t-shirts in the parking lot of Citizens Bank Park, we obviously had to buy her one!

Philly has die-hard fans and incredible sports teams, but it’s also rich in history. My friend lived in Old City, a neighborhood known for its charming cobblestone streets and plenty of 18th-century charm. She was just a block away from Elfreth’s Alley, which showcases a collection of early American structures dating from the 1720s to the 1830s. And the homes are cute AF!

I’m a sucker for brick buildings, historical sites, and tree-lined streets and Philly offers all that and more. We dined at Parc, a delightful French restaurant near Rittenhouse Square. During our last visit in the summer, we attended a Phillies game. The Phillies fanbase is absolutely bonkers, so are we THAT shocked that I saw someone get arrested at the stadium?! No, we are not shocked.
